Dessalines Refugees
Picture 1024: Refuges that lost everything in the flood - housed in the government school in Dessalines. EGO provided food for them three times a day.
Picture 1073: Returning after distributing food. View of the road even after the water began to recede.
Picture 1121: The day we gave out peanut butter sandwiches while Mom divided up the milk so everyone could have some.
Picture 1128: Little ones in one room. We divided them into two rooms with someone standing at the door, Otherwise some would sneek in several times. We learned from experience...~-~
Picture 1174: Dessalines Police Security for us. At this very moment they called Ruben to go with them to escourt the truck from 'World Vision' as they are held up on the road by people that haven't yet received any aid. God Help this country.
Picture 1178: We gave out numbers 1-20 for mothers and small children and coordinated with one at the school. Before one group was finished there would be one on the way. They came everyday to eat and bathe. They were given a bar of soap, toothbrush, toothbpaste and a towel. The children bathed under the pump and the mothers in the girls shower. In all there were 180 everyday.
We are truly Blessed of the Lord with all the food and articles we were priviledged to have on hand to give out. Also we had some water but no damage, only on the back part behind the guest house where they had just dug a new canal to run the water off to the valley. It washed the dirt out five feet below the foundation but Praise God the wall is still standing. With the water still running through we are unable to do anything with it yet.
Thanks everyone for your prayers, support and everything you gave so that we might inturn give to others.
