Don put on a "Walk though Christmas" on the campus of EGO. It portrayed the birth of Christ with the children in their customs telling who they were, what they did and where  in the Bible their part could be found.

Upon arriving, the first setting is Zacharias & Elizabeth, which is portrayed by Talante that grew up here and her husband. As she explains that for a long time she couldn’t get pregnant etc. - you stand there listening and no matter how many times you’ve heard it, chills run through your body as this situation was true in real life for her and she is now 6 months pregnant. What wonders He performs!

In the dining room you’ll find Mary & Joseph sitting.  They stand and introduce themselves and tell their story in brief - the trip being oh so long down to Bethlehem and it was exactly as the Angels said.

Across the yard on a slope walking towards the Tabernacle the shepherds are warming themselves by the fire and feeding their sheep with staffs in hand,  their little fires to keep them warm and they told how the Angels appeared to them. Then they hurried to Bethlehem to see the Christ child.

Then on into the Tabernacle yard, the Angels roped off standing in white glistening in the light, tell their story that they are God’s Messengers after which we visit the Kings telling their story.

Then into the Tabernacle where everyone waits in a dim light with soft music until all the other groups are finished walking through. Inside it begins with the spotlight following Mary and Joseph down the middle isle to the front and shuts off as they walk up the steps with music everything is quiet until you hear the baby cry, the light comes on with the Angels standing behind Mary and Joseph as she kneels down and places Baby Jesus in the Manger after which there is some conversation between them and the trio sings Silent Night. The shepherds followed, kneeling down in front of the platform and the Wise Men doing the same each having something to say.

With two of the adult children, one being Jacquelin our driver and computer wizz, and the other one Sony, who will be finishing up his degree at YWAM Ecclecia college in the States this Spring, at different intervals, interviewed different ones in the cast clarifying different statements making it clearer to those who have never heard this wonderful story.

Lastly came the owner of the Hotel walking down the isle stating that if he had only known…..”I would have given him my room”

The last evening the Mayor and his wife came to view the program and we invited them to stay to share in the Christmas cookies and a drink. He was very impressed. Everyone said the only problem was that it wasn‘t long enough….

We were all so proud of Dad; it was very well done and he spent many hours preparing and working with the children. We praise the Lord that the people of Dessalines were blessed and trust they now understood a little more of God's WORD.

Dad worked all day Friday unpacking and putting little things together for the children's Christmas gifts, making sure some were trick ones, wrapping and bagging them for Saturday night! Missing Christmas day with the children of EGO did not take away their expectations when we returned. Thus, the house was filled with joy, laughter, and singing. The children were so thankful for the gifts they received. It was Christmas in January!  Thank you so much to all of our contributors who brought laughter to the faces of these precious ones.  You've done a good thing for the Lord!
